Do I need bloodwork before starting TRT?
Yes. A baseline panel measuring total and free testosterone, estradiol, CBC, PSA, and related markers is required before a clinician will prescribe. It confirms low testosterone is actually the cause of your symptoms and rules out conditions where testosterone therapy would be unsafe.
How long until TRT starts working?
Responses vary by person and by what's being treated. Many men report changes in energy, mood, and libido within the first several weeks, while changes in body composition and strength typically take longer. Your clinician recommends a recheck panel at around 90 days to see how you're responding.
Will TRT affect my fertility?
Testosterone therapy can suppress sperm production. If fertility matters to you, tell your clinician during intake. Enclomiphene supports the body's own testosterone production while preserving fertility, and hCG is sometimes used alongside testosterone for the same reason. This is a decision your clinician makes with you.
